Why use OneE TDI?

At the core of OneE TDI is a highly experienced team specialising in all areas of tax disputes and investigations work. We are all former HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) inspectors/investigators – so we know how HMRC thinks! We are constantly in touch with HMRC inspectors/investigators, so we have up to date insights into current HMRC practice and policy. A scenario that you might think is impossible to resolve is actually something that we come across every week in our work.

We offer confidential, non-judgemental advice to best defend clients and have a proven track record in successfully managing all contentious tax matters and reducing the potential tax, interest and penalties that could potentially be sought by HMRC. We provide a comprehensive service to accountants, lawyers and their clients, which saves clients both time and money.

When should I use OneE TDI?

The initial strategy for managing an enquiry can be often crucial to its outcome. We, therefore, prefer to be involved in an enquiry right from the start. That said, specialist advice (or second opinion) at any point in the enquiry can help resolve outstanding issues and conclude matters quickly.

Tax enquiries can strain your client relationships and you often have to devote a great deal of time and effort to dealing with HMRC – time that could be better spent proactively growing and strengthening your practice. OneE TDI allows you to focus on the development and success of your business.

How can OneE TDI help?

Our Services page details the areas/issues on which we provide specialist advice.

Our aim is always to be flexible and to work with you in the best interest of your client. We will manage the whole enquiry or, if you prefer, provide you with specialist background advice – thereby allowing you to be the 'point of contact' with HMRC.

What about fees?

Again, our aim is to be flexible. We try to tailor the fee arrangements to suit each case (e.g. fixed fees, hourly charge rates, contingent fees etc).

If you refer the entire case/enquiry to us, then we will pay you a commission (based on the fees recovered from your client). Certain conditions do apply, but our aim is always to try to financially reward you for trusting us with your client.

What about fee protection insurance?

A number of accountants (and their clients) are covered by fee protection insurance and insurers are typically reluctant to involve specialists as they believe it will increase the cost of any claim. This is not how we work. Where possible, we will work within the agreed terms of your policy (including charge rates, claim procedures etc). Our specialist advice can actually help reduce the potential cost of the claim. This helps calm the insurers' concerns and manage your 'Claims History' (on which your future insurance premiums will be calculated).

In essence, the client (and/or the insurer) receives specialist advice at no additional cost.
